If you’ve been trying to get pregnant or have had a pregnancy loss, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Trying to conceive a baby, and carry it to term, can be a challenging time filled with highs and lows, emotional upsets and hopeful moments, and everything else in between. This is a time to be surrounded by women who have journeyed a similar path and not succumb to isolation that often surrounds women during this time. In partnership with the Museum of Motherhood, as each of us is on our own mothering path, this group will offer an opportunity to form connections with others, understand more about our individual journeys, and hold a space for all of the opposite of feelings (fear/trust, anger/sadness, etc).
In many ways there is a parallel between growing life and waiting to pass life. Trusting your body on either side of the spectrum is a beautiful way to honor life – (words of wisdom from one friend to another as she waited for her miscarriage to end)
Almost every single friend I (know) had one lost pregnancy before they were pregnant and carried to term. I am starting to feel like the female body goes through a cleansing/preparation phase sometimes and gears itself up to carry a baby to term. (words of wisdom from a caring friend)
Facilitated by Elizabeth Mangum-Sarach, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who has been walking her own path towards motherhood and deeply understands the challenges, and rewards, of this adventure.
Transitions – Pregnancy in the First Trimester

You are pregnant! This may have been something you’ve been dreaming of your whole life or a surprise that came out of nowhere. Whatever the case, the first trimester (week 1 – end of week 12) is a time filled with excitement, hopefulness, possibly concern, and a wide spectrum of different emotions! This group, in partnership with the Museum of Motherhood, will offer a space to share the range of emotions with other pregnant women, learn and share about some of the surprises that come up along this first step in the adventure of pregnancy, and discuss myths and facts about what to expect and how to prepare for your little one. Learn about what to look for when choosing a provider, which childbirth education course is right for you, and how to build the strongest support team possible for you and your baby.
This is a time for ‘hope without anticipation’ as the first trimester is a fragile time in life – Kimm Sun, Sunrising Midwifery
Facilitated by Elizabeth Mangum-Sarach, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who has been walking her own path towards motherhood and deeply understands the challenges, and rewards, of this adventure.
