Additional Training:   All BirthFocus doulas must be certified or in the process of becoming certified by a nationally recognized training program (Doulas of North America DONA or  the Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators ALACE). Hypnosis, breastfeeding and bereavement workshops provide BirthFocus doulas with the most up-to-date evidence based research on specific challenges in childbirth.  These in-house trainings guarantee that BirthFocus doulas provide clients with optimal care. Director, Ilana Stein is available 24/7 for doulas to ask questions of, receive support from and to discuss challenging situations with. Monthly meetings explore topics, answer questions and explore issues that come up at births and within the scope of practice of the doula.
